User Access
The scientifically sound review by the scientific board and the respective scientific staff involved ensures that the combination of methods available at the FPS is optimally adapted to the research question. In the event of a positive assessment, the project is divided into one of three user categories based on defined criteria (previous experimental knowledge of the applicant, large-scale equipment to be used, personnel resources and equipment utilisation): Service work (1), External users (2) and Collaborations (3). Further details regarding the organisation as well as the financial and legal framework conditions are presented in the table. The scientific board prepares an offer for service work. A joint publication of the results obtained will be endeavoured where possible. Should it be necessary to prioritise user requests due to limited equipment capacities, collaborations will be given priority over commissioned work and external users. In the event of staffing limitations, external users are prioritised. The utilisation of personnel and equipment is mapped using an FPS-wide planning and booking system and enables the scientific board to quickly assess methodological capacities.
